We Should

Do Better

Things need to change.

We are working to change the way things are right now, including:

  • About 27 percent of Ohio seniors live in substandard housing.

  • That could double in the next 20 years.

  • By 2021, the number of seniors living in poverty will increase by 44 percent.

  • According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, homelessness among people 65 and older is expected to rise around 30 percent by the year 2020

  • Every 7.7 seconds, someone turns 62 years old.

  • Over 12 percent of people 60 years old and older are living in poverty.

  • For every subsidized apartment in Ohio, there are nine people on the waiting list.

  • We are only one misfortune away from poverty.

  • Our nation's and state's leaders are struggling to balance our budget - at the expense of the elderly poor.
